‘9-1-1’ Season 9 Gets an Early Premiere Date Change
In a surprising scheduling shift, ABC has announced that 9-1-1 Season 9 will now premiere on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, moving up one week from its originally planned debut of October 16. Fans can expect the action-packed drama to return sooner than expected, following a summer of anticipation.
Filming began in late July, and Season 9 is confirmed to feature 18 episodes, continuing the show’s weekly primetime slot. This season will tackle the emotional and professional fallout after the shocking death of Captain Bobby Nash in the Season 8 finale.
Returning cast members include Angela Bassett, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman, Aisha Hinds, and Kenneth Choi. The upcoming storyline will focus on how the team at Station 118 copes and moves forward after losing their leader.
Adding to the excitement, the season premiere will be paired with the launch of a new spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville, which airs immediately after at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The spinoff aims to expand the universe of the 9-1-1 franchise with new characters and high-stakes emergencies set in the American South.
The earlier premiere means fans get back into the world of 9-1-1 ahead of schedule, with more drama, emotional arcs, and life-and-death moments awaiting the beloved crew.
