Bad Thoughts Netflix Series

Bad Thoughts is a dark comedy series created by comedian Tom Segura, which premiered on Netflix on May 13, 2025. It consists of six episodes, each one presenting distinct often uncomfortable scenarios that mirror Segura’s bold, no-holds-barred comedic style.

The series was born out of Segura’s desire to bring his personal, sometimes controversial thoughts to the screen. After personally financing a pilot episode, Netflix took interest and this led to the full series. Segura worked alongside directors Rami Hachache and Jeremy Konner, who also co-wrote the series with a team that included Craig Gerard, Matthew Zinman, Conor Galvin and Greg Tuculescu. Bad Thoughts was produced by YMH Studios with Segura overseeing much of the creative direction, including as creator, director executive producer, and lead actor.

Bad Thoughts explores darker facets of human nature, leaning into uncomfortable and taboo subjects. Segura uses his own experiences and musings as inspiration for the show’s sketches, often using humor to confront societal taboos, anxieties and oddities. Each vignette is designed to be offbeat, challenging conventional comedic boundaries.

One of the more memorable stories from the production involves actor Jason Momoa, who was scheduled to appear as a “dream guy” in one of the sketches. However, he canceled via FaceTime while relaxing in a bathtub a moment that Segura found both humorous and fitting for the unpredictable nature of the show.
