‘Devil May Cry’ Gets Lightning-Fast Season 2 Renewal on Netflix

‘Devil May Cry’ Gets Lightning-Fast Season 2 Renewal on Netflix

In a major win for fans, Devil May Cry has officially been renewed for a second season—just a week after its debut on April 3, 2025. Netflix dropped the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) with a striking poster of Dante and the fan-favorite line: “This party’s getting crazy!”

Why the Fast-Track to Season 2?

The renewal comes as no surprise given the show’s powerhouse performance out of the gate. In just its first week, Devil May Cry racked up over 5.3 million views and clocked more than 23 million watch hours. The series also pulled in a strong 8.1 rating on IMDb and a 92% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, signaling major buzz and solid fan approval.

What’s Coming Next?

Season 1 ended with some major twists—Mary Arkham’s betrayal lands Dante in enemy hands, captured by Vice President Baines, who’s on a crusade to wage a holy war against hell. Meanwhile, a jaw-dropping reveal confirms Vergil’s identity as a demon knight, setting up a potential brotherly showdown that fans won’t want to miss.

When Will Season 2 Drop?

While Netflix has greenlit the second season, there’s no official release date yet. However, considering typical production timelines for animated series, it’s likely fans can expect it to hit screens sometime in late 2026.

Who’s Coming Back?

The main cast is expected to return, including Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante and Marcel Nahapetian as young Vergil. The project remains under the creative direction of Adi Shankar—the mind behind Netflix’s Castlevania—with animation duties continuing at Studio Mir.
